About Hope for Kids Speech Pathology
Meet our Founder
Hi! I’m Denise, a bilingual speech language pathologist from South west Sydney. I have been supporting children to communicate for nearly 15 years.
Over the last decade and a half, I have worked with children of all ages and with a variety of communication needs. I have worked in schools, hospitals, private clinics, and preschools to provide individual, group and Telehealth assessment and therapy. I have always strived to support each child with their individual goals yet my areas of special interest are: Early Language intervention, and Speech pronunciation.
In the last 5 years, I have also developed a keen passion in mentoring and supporting many early career and senior therapists with their clinical and leadership goals. Seeing other speech pathologists blossom and grow into confident therapists brings me joy!
As a first generation Australian to migrant parents, I not only can communicate confidently in English and Spanish, but I also understand what it means to support children and families who speak English as their second language. This is why I decided to found Hope for Kids Speech pathology.
Australia, in particular South West Sydney, boasts for its rich multicultural people. With the increase of different cultures and languages comes the need for parents to receive Speech and Language support that aims to preserve their home language and culture. Therefore Hope for Kids's vision is to provide multilingual families with the tools to support their child to communicate.
As a mum of two girls, I understand firsthand the joys, challenges, and energy it takes in helping children learn, grow and find their sense of belonging. There it is through a warm, nurturing and fun environment that I aim to support your child to develop their communication skills.
When I am not in a therapy session, you will find me spending time with my family, doing pilates, singing (I sing all the time!) or crocheting.
